Christmas news letter 2023
Dear Members
Please read, The BRC are changing the way that membership paid, Sport80. Please don’t cancel your standing order yet , we are in process of sorting the Mid Somerset link. Please bear with us Andrea and Helen are trying to sort this.
Low membership has meant we are still are unable to run competition days but instead have majored on our training. We have kept the stalwart flatwork clinics with Gill Longhurst ,Amanda Edmonds, Sue Petty and Margret Millward all have been a great success. Sadly numbers has declined for Amanda and sadly will not be running in 2024. We will subsidising all the clinics and feel this is important to do so- and have had new members through the clinics- but still need more. Training is at competitive prices and high standard of training. Clinics will continue in the new year.
Jaki and Emma have been sorting the team dressage teams and qualifiers this year. Some members have found there now over qualified for some of these events due to points this last year. The next event is the intermediate qualifier the 3rd of Feb 2024, so hoping to see you all then. We did have a team get to Hartpury this year, fun was had ! We will update you at agm. Kathy Emery bought a new horse for the horse trails and due to date change was only representative.
Our agm is at Long Sutton village hall at 7:30pm on January 31st – Please put date in your dairies and support club. This is an opportunity to have your say any ideas you would like to put forward.
From the quiz night in October 2022 we presented a cheque for £450 to the injured jockeys fund at a morning at the new Taunton hub, which was much appreciated by the IJF and had a really interesting visit and Rex Dingle accepted the cheque, Sone were brave enough to try out the equicizer! The hub is providing a very much needed resource in the South West and is huge success. Also presented Mole Valley vouchers for £100 to Glenda Spooner Farm.
The quiz night October 2023 was another Success. We have presentations to make to the IJF £350, who are always grateful for our continued support. £30 of Mole Valley vouchers to Glenda Spooner Farm, which will spent locally at Glenda Spooner Farm. We were down on numbers of teams this year due to holidays and birthdays. Thanks to all that made the running of this evening such a success. We already have teams ready for 2024!! Giving holiday dates for next year.
Our treasurer changed during the year from Judith Hall to Helen Roberts. Judith has a very full life and new project in a new property, plus she has had health issues. We are very grateful for all the work Judith had done for the club.
Finally, If there is anything you would like your club to put on- the agm is your chance to come and tell us what other things you would enjoy !!
Until then Have a Wonderful Christmas, stay safe enjoy your riding !
